Jozani Forest Tour
3 HoursThe Jozani Forest is Zanzibar’s only national park and a must-visit for nature lovers. Best known for the rare Kirk’s Red Colobus Monkeys (locally called Kima Punju), this forest offers a unique opportunity to see wildlife found nowhere else on Earth.
Once considered on the brink of extinction, the red colobus population has grown to around 6,000 monkeys thanks to conservation efforts. The forest is also home to other wildlife, including Sykes monkeys, bush pigs, Ader’s duiker, elephant shrews, chameleons, suni antelopes, and a wide variety of birds.
Beyond the wildlife, Jozani Forest features diverse habitats such as swamp forest, mangroves, and evergreen thickets, making it one of Zanzibar’s most important ecosystems.
